I Tried the Solo Leveling Workout for 7 Days – Here’s What Happened

There are quite a few anime characters who went from zero to hero in the most aesthetic way possible, and Sung Jin-Woo from Solo Leveling is one of them. His journey from E-rank hunter to unstoppable shadow monarch was legendary and not just because of his powers, but also because of his insane physical transformation, fans liked him so much that they also want to level up themselves in real life.

And I got an urge inside me to try  Sung Jin-Woo’s workout routine and you know what I did it. But I got me thinking, could a regular person like me handle Sung Jin-Woo’s workout for 7 straight days?

Sung jin-Woo's Physique in real life

Why Sung Jin-Woo’s Physique Is So Powerful

Sung Jin-Woo’s transformation is really inspiring and aesthetic at the same time. Bro literally went from skinny, weak guy to big, agile, explosive, and combat-ready. Those muscles that he built with the help of the system isn’t just for flex, they are actually functional and practical for his dungeon battles.

Key Features of His Physique:

  • Broad shoulders
  • Tight waist with V-line
  • Defined serratus anterior (those side abs under your armpit)
  • Visible 6 to 8 pack abs
  • Strong forearms and upper arms
  • Athletic legs built for speed and agility

He wasn’t bulky like bodybuilders are, he was aesthetic, lean and shredded. And the best part? I can naturally come very close to this look if you are consistent with training, diet and recovery.

Day 1 The Beginning

On Day 1, I thought it was a “warm-up“. But brother, 100 push-ups brought me straight to the ground. I was not able to do it in one go. I took breaks and somehow completed it.

Then came sit-ups. The mistake was that I did them on concrete – my tailbone got hurt. I shifted to grass, but my core still got burnt.

Squats went well, but my quads and glutes made me feel it.

And then came the real boss-level quest: 10 km run.

In life, I had run a maximum of 2-3 miles. That too in school cross-country. And that too is not out of interest.

For 10 km, I had to run 14 laps of the local trail. In the very first lap, I realized that Jin-Woo’s grind was real. By Lap 3, I got an extra challenge- a pitbull fell on my back! I escaped. After a while, a husky also challenged me. Is this a real-life dungeon?

After Lap 10, my legs started dragging. By Lap 12, my calves and traps had become totally numb. But I couldn’t stop. The anime scene was running through my mind—“Fail the quest, and you get punished by monsters.”

After 1 hour 22 minutes, 16,000 steps, and a truckload of pain—I did it. Made a protein shake for reward. Deserved it.

Day 2: The DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) Strikes

As soon as I got up I felt as if someone had thrown me out of a truck. Calves were tight, lower back was burning. Quads and traps? Don’t even ask about them.

Walking became a punishment. But I had to complete the quest.

Push-ups? They were painful. Sit-ups, which were easy yesterday, now seemed impossible. 10 km run? I walked a lot. It took two hours.

But I completed it. And I promised myself I will eat steak. Made steak for the first time. It wasn’t like Ramsay’s, but it was neither raw nor burnt. It was fun.

Days 3 & 4: The Breaking Point

On Day 3 the pain did not go away, it increased. The thought of running felt like torture. Push-ups were manageable, but the terror of the run was different.

By Day 4 I felt I had made a mistake. 10 km daily without preparation = self-destruction. There was no power in the legs. Breathing was also feeling strange.

Tried the hot tub for recovery. Got some relaxation.

But took out the real hero’s tool—massage gun. It gave me pain, but the stiffness was released a little.

Day 5: Legs Burnt

On Day 5 I started with push-ups, sit-ups, squats,  I got cool. Then it was time for a run.

For the first 3 miles I was in beast mode. Then my energy started burning massively, I was freaking exhausted at that time. I had 3 more miles left.

Then I completed it. It was the toughest run. Legs burnt, mind drained.

Day 6: The Comeback

I couldn’t believe it—on Day 6 everything started to feel a little easier.

Push-ups, sit-ups and squats—were under control. Running was also less than walking.

Stamina had improved. Soreness had almost gone.

It seemed like I was making real progress just like Jin-Woo.

Day 7: The Final Quest

Emotions were high. I was feeling proud. I was also exhausted.

Repeated the routine—push-ups, sit-ups, squats—everything was better.

Then came the 10 km run. This time there was speed. There was rhythm. And the best thing—10 minutes faster than Day 1!

As soon as I crossed the finish line, I felt as if I had leveled up in real life.

Results: Did I Become Jin-Woo?

Honestly—no abs. No monster bow. No anime level glow-up.

But there were some real changes:

  • Calves were looking fuller after so much running.
  • Core was tight, posture got better.
  • Cardio improved, being 10 minutes faster is no small thing.
  • Mental toughness skyrocketed—completing even after daily pain changes your mindset.

And yes, weight gain happened too, which is a sign of muscle recovery and growth. Protein’s amazing.

What I Learned from the Solo Leveling Workout

This challenge taught me a lot. Here are the top lessons:

1. Discipline > Motivation

Motivation is not there every day. But when discipline is set, you can clear every challenge.

2. Recovery is mandatory

Hot tub, massage gun, and sleep—all these are necessary. Otherwise the body will break down.

3. You can do more than you think

10 km seemed impossible on Day 1. It was normal on Day 6.

4. Nutrition = Progress

Clean diet, protein shakes, steak—all these were important for recovery and gains.

5. Anime Training is Exaggerated—But the Inspiration is Real

You don’t become a superhuman in a week. But real change is possible. With consistency.

Would I Recommend It?

If you are a beginner, don’t do it honestly. You can break your knees by running 10 km daily without training.

But if you are fit and want to self-test, then go for it. It is painful, but rewarding too.

Remember one thing—this is not an anime. Listen to your body. Train smart. Recover hard.

Final Thoughts

Sung Jin-Woo’s journey is not just a fantasy. It is a metaphor.

We all start weak. But those who grind with discipline, consistency and belief – they evolve.

These 7 days made me strong both physically and mentally. And it can happen, this is the real magic of Solo Leveling.
